Opportunity of this role:

Our continued growth, success, and investment have led to the rapid expansion of our global technology team and we have recently opened our second technology development center in Chennai, India.

As a management member of our global technology team, we are looking for a Head of Software Engineering based in Boulogne-Billancourt. Reporting to the CTO, as leader of the software engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful design, development, and maintenance of the A2MAC1 Platform.

Your responsibilities will include closely collaborating with all peers across our leadership (Product, Solutions, QA, IT) and our internal teams to ensure that the agile development of the A2MAC1 Platform can be delivered to meet demanding business outcomes while meeting effort, time, and quality objectives.

Experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Head of Software Engineering (based on a background of full-stack software development), delivering online B2B SaaS products (preferably data services in Automotive or similar domain)
  • In-depth understanding of Head of Software Engineering responsibilities (technical vision, SDLC, security and quality standards, planning, prioritizing, and tracking, team building and mentoring)
  • Ability to create, build, develop, lead, and mentor a distributed software engineering team comprising various capability and skills (solutions, architecture, development, database, testing)
  • Creation of strategic software development roadmaps, aligned to product vision and business strategy, evaluating new ideas, supporting full software development lifecycle and driving change
  • Expert at the assessment and implementation of new technology and development best practice for the continual improvement of software product quality and software engineering process
  • In-depth understanding of best practice software engineering processes, techniques, and software technologies (preferably C#, .Net, SQL, NoSQL, Angular, Typescript, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Understanding of Cloud, online web-based, and micro-services technologies and of building/migrating B2B SaaS (large scale data services) products to Cloud from legacy (preferably Azure, containerization, webservers, API, micro-services, security, managed services, etc.)
  • Used to working in an Agile environment, using IDE, DevOps, CI/CD practices and project management toolsets (preferably Azure DevOps) to create, manage, and report on development tasks, and supporting cross-functional team members to ensure Sprint success
  • Responsibility demonstrating the contribution and effective performance of the software engineering team (using performance management, KPIs, agile/data analytics and visualization)

Qualifications & interpersonal skills needed:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in an IT or computer science discipline
  • Excellent English (French a bonus) communication and listening skills, able to understandably present software vision and technical concepts to external stakeholders and internal teams
  • Proactive mindset to drive change, questions assumptions, and push for innovative solutions
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and able to lead and motivate others to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and taking responsibility for delivery
  • Willingness to travel (primarily France and Chennai, India)
